Mountain Biking
MTB clinics fall apart when the trail is wet and the fleet is short
Seshana is scheduling software for mountain bike schools and trail coaches. A clinic is coaches, bikes, and a trail system — not a Zoom link with a deposit.
A skills clinic is a fleet problem wearing a calendar costume
You can fill a Saturday intro clinic by Thursday. Then it rains, the preserve closes the steep line, and you still have eight medium trail bikes and two kids bikes that do not match the roster.
Guided rides, jump progressions, and private skills blocks do not share a ratio or a waiver. If they all sit in one 'appointment type,' someone will show up in clip-ins for a pump-track hour.
Coaches hate the Sunday night text: 'are we still on?' You hate it too. The answer should be on the board, with the trail location and the bike assignments, not in three threads.
Coaches, bikes, and the trail on the same Saturday
Put clinics and guided rides on a real schedule. Check bikes and pads out against the session. Use the location's weather when the call is actually about mud, not 'chance of showers' for the county.
Clinic vs guided ride vs private
Those are different lesson types. Duration, price, and which coaches can take them stay attached to the type so the widget does not sell the wrong thing.
The fleet is not a sidebar
Trail bikes, e-MTBs, helmets, and pads can be inventoried and checked out on the lesson. You see what is still out from yesterday's rental.
More than one trail system
Home base, a downtown trail, a farther preserve — each can be a location with its own weather and availability. A booking at one does not silently eat a coach at the other.
Offline when cell service dies on the climb
Download the day's schedule before you leave the shop. Remote trailheads are why that exists.
Questions owners actually ask
- We also rent bikes. Is this a rental shop POS?
- No. It will track gear against lessons and rentals you attach to a session. It is not a full bike-shop register. If you already sell through Shopify, you can connect that for paid bookings.
- Can customers book a clinic themselves?
- Yes, with the widget, for the lesson types you publish. Keep advanced intensives as request-only if you want to approve the rider first.
- What if the preserve closes the trail that morning?
- You reschedule or cancel on the board and notifications go out. You still make the call. The software keeps you from doing it name-by-name off a printed list in the rain.
- Do coaches get their own login?
- Yes. They see their schedule, availability, and time-off. They do not need the whole school's books.
